Ho, April 4, GNA - Nii Laryea Squre, Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) on Friday launched a "Friday wear" for personnel of the scheme in the Volta Region and urged them to dress in honour of the Ghanaian culture and customs. He said it was compulsory for all service personnel and staff of the Scheme to wear the cloth on Fridays.
"The Volta Region is in deed a pacesetter having initiated most programmes for the Scheme, including the launch of Friday wear," Nii Squre noted.
He urged staff of the Scheme and service personnel in the region to work hard and maintain current high standards.
Professor Kwasi Agyeman, Board Chairman of the NSS, said the Friday wear concept was a national strategy for instilling patriotism in the citizenry and should not be taken lightly.
Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, Deputy Minister for Manpower, Youth and Employment and Mr Steve Selormey, Chief Director of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council were given awards for their distinguished support to the Secretariat.
