Mr. Henry Ford Kamel, the Volta Regional Minister has dedicated a peace award presented to him by the International Clergy Association (ICA) to the people of the region.
The award was in recognition of the, “responsible manner in which the Minister handled the crisis in Hohoe”.
Mr. Kamel said, “I dedicate this award to my people for their understanding, cooperation and love for peace.”
He described the people in the Volta Region as “very peaceful” and gave the assurance that the Region would be peaceful at the December Polls.
He stressed, “Voltarians are very peaceful. We have several ethnic groups co-existing as brothers and sisters for many decades.”
He expressed gratitude to the ICA for the recognition and called for prayers for peace in the country during the general election.
Apostle William Gomedo, Chairman of ICA-Ghana who presented the award, said the Association was greatly delighted about how Mr. Kamel managed the Hohoe crisis and the humility with which he works.
He observed that all the utterances of Mr. Kamel demonstrated his commitment to peace and commended him for his efforts.
Apostle Gomedo promised the preparedness of the ICA to support the peace building process with prayers to ensure that peace prevailed in Hohoe, the Volta Region and the country as a whole.**
