Kumasi, April 6, GNA - The Voltarians Co-ordinating Council (VCC) has called on natives of Volta region resident in the Ashanti region to participate actively in all programmes lined up for the celebration of the 'Adae Kese' and the fifth anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The call was contained in a statement issued by the VCC in Kumasi on Monday and signed by its chairman, Reverend Togbe S.K. Fugah. The VCC observed that as Voltarians residing and working in the region, they have invariably become part and parcel of the large Asanteman family. The statement explained that by getting actively involved in the 'Adae Kese' and the anniversary programmes, Voltarians would also be demonstrating their profound appreciation for the fatherly care granted them by the Asantehene and people of Asanteman.
It stressed the need for Voltarians to particularly observe the ban on funeral celebrations between April 12 and May 12. "You should also make it a social duty to make yourselves available every Saturday in your local communities to undertake clean-up exercises not only for improving sanitation in those areas but also to help make the entire celebrations a success", the VCC statement added. The Council wished the Asantehene good health and assured him of its continuous support in his efforts at bringing progress to Asanteman and the nation.
