The Wa Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Momin, has donated 30 bags of cement for the expansion and rehabilitation of the Jengbeyiri Central Mosque in the Upper West Region.
The uncompleted Jengbeyiri Central Mosque, which was built in the 70’s, has not seen any major rehabilitation works.
It is against this background that the Muslim community appealed for support from the citizens of the municipality, the MCE who obliged to support them with thirty bags of cement.
At a handing over ceremony at the central mosque, The assembly man of Jengbeyiri electoral area Hon Samad,said Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Momen was a man of his words.
The spokesperson of Jengbeyiri Central Mosque expressed their profound gratitude to the MCE, adding that the support will significantly help in the expansion and rehabilitation of the mosque.
“Now, we are going to put in strategies to get support from all over the region so that we can start the serious construction of this mosque. You can see serious defects in the mosque and 30 bags may not be enough, but it will be the beginning of a massive construction work for the face-lift of this mosque”.
The assemblyman Mr. Samad, lauded the support by the MCE, saying, the Muslim community will forever be grateful his unflinching support to the Muslim community and Islam.
He also urged all Muslims especially those who are well to do, to emulate the MCE gesture by supporting to complete the construction of the mosque.
