Wa NDC executives appeal for completion of projects

The Upper West Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to President Dramani Mahama to ensure the timely completion of the tarring of the Wa-Tumu-Navrongo Road and the Wa–Hamile Road.

They said if those roads were completed before the 2016 general election, it would help win the 11 parliamentary seats in the region to the NDC.

In a solidarity message to President Mahama to mark his second anniversary, Mr Matthew Song-Aabo, Regional Chairman, commended President Mahama for his achievements despite the protracted election petition, the energy crisis and the spate of strikes on the labour front last year.

He urged the President to remain strong and resolute to deliver on the NDC’s “Better Ghana Agenda.”

He said President Mahama was working hard to improve the energy crisis, reduce strikes on the labour front and that the completion of the Sawla-Damongo-Fufulso road had boosted economic activities in the northern sector of Ghana.

Mr Song-Aabo mentioned the Wa Urban Water Project in Jenbusi and Kpongu Water Project in the Wa Municipality, Small Town Water projects in Manwe and Goripie in the Wa East District, Sombo in the Nadowli-Kaleo District and Issa and Bussie in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District, as some of the projects implemented in the region.

Mr Song-Aabo also mentioned the ongoing Wa Regional Hospital Project, the construction of community senior high schools at Dorimon and Zini and the connection of many rural communities to the national grid within the two years of President Mahama’s Administration, as a remarkable achievement in the history of the region.

He appealed to Ghanaians to give their unflinching support to President Mahama to grow the economy and bring development to enhance the living standards of the people.
