Mr Anthony Emmanuel Aggrey, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wassa East, has commended the staff of the Assembly for achieving 97 percent in the 2014 Functional Organizational Assessment Tool (FOAT).
He said this at the seventh session of the Assembly at Daboase, the district capital.
Touching on road projects in the district, the DCE said bitumen surfacing has been made on the Anto-Dompim -Daboase road.
He said construction work was ongoing on Edwenase-Atobiase-Daboase road to Ateiku, while contract for spot improvement and bitumen surfacing had been awarded for Kakabo Junction to Kakabo, as well as Atobiase to Amponsaso roads respectively.
Mr Aggrey said three Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds had been established at Amponsaso, Aboaboso and Brofoyedur, to improve health delivery in the communities, while additional two CHPS compounds for Essaman and Kokoase would soon begin.
Mr Isaac Adjei Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the area and Deputy Roads and Highways Minister, said more than GHc300 million have been allocated for the construction of the 115.3km of roads across the district.
He urged assembly members to eschew politics of insults and support government and the assembly, to bring the needed development to the area.
