“We can’t share toilet with men” - Kokoben women go wild

Female residents of Kokobeng Electoral Area, a suburb of the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region have vowed not to share a common public place of convenience with their male counterparts.

The women have gone wild over sharing of a toilet facility together with men which they described as “dangerous” for their safety.

According to the women, they risk being raped by their male counterparts if the practice of sharing the facility continues.

Speaking to abusuafmonline.com, some of the women said “there is a certain man in this area who will visit the toilet anytime he sees women going inside.”

Another woman also said, “the same man has gone into the toilet many times just this morning. Anytime he sees a woman entering, he will also run and enter because he loves to watch our nakedness.”

The women are therefore appealing to Non Governmental Organisations and District Chief Executive for the area to assist with an ultra modern toilet facility.

Speaking in an interview, Assembly Member for Ahenema Kokobeng, Stephen Akuamoah described the situation as “pathetic” and has therefore appealed to the assembly to consider his request for an ultra-modern toilet facility to be built.
