"We can't win Power In 2004" - NDC Activist

Navrongo (U/E), Jan. 6, GNA - A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Paga-Chiana Constituency, Mr Philip Baba Chuwe says the Party could not win Election 2004 no matter the efforts it might put into its campaigns.
"Even though I would have wished the NDC came to power, it is not possible until may be 2008," he said in a goodwill message he delivered at a New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates' conference, held at Navrongo at the weekend.
He observed that in spite of the popularity the NPP was gaining, it was doomed to disintegrate if it did not resolve its internal grievances to please the rank and file of the membership.
Mr Chuwe said unresolved grievances contributed greatly to the fall of the NDC in Elections 2000 and advised the Party's Executives to speed up efforts at resolving their internal problems.
Mr Chuwe, a former Upper East Regional Secretary of NDC, said he preferred to be addressed as a friend of the NPP because most supporters of the NPP were his friends and he had related to them in several ways including politics and development issues.
He said: "I am not here on the ticket of the NDC. I am here as a political consultant."
This drew applause from the delegates some of whom shouted: "You are welcome!"
