Traders at the Awutu Bawjuase Market in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central region, have threatened to boycott the payment of market tolls should authorities fail to renovate the deplorable nature of the market.

Speaking to Rainbow Radio’s Nana Yaw Asare, the traders complained that, the deplorable nature of the market has been a major challenge and yet authorities have failed to renovate it.

They have also slammed the assembly for collecting market tolls on daily basis and yet the market is in a bad state. The traders told our reporter that the previous administration had plans towards the renovation but because they lost the polls, the renovation has stalled.

They have therefore called on the MP. George Andah, to give the market a facelift.

Another complained that the deplorable nature of the market could claim lives and destruction of properties especially when we heading towards the rainy season.

The market which was constructed decades ago, has not seen any renovation and lacks proper security.
