Western Region hosts Aviation and Tourism (AviaTour) conference in October

An Aviation and Tourism (AviaTour) Conference is coming up in Takoradi, the Western Region of Ghana on the 2nd to 4th October 2019.

Organizers of the event have confirmed, "it would seek to highlight activities of the two sectors considered very critical to the national economy and in the larger interest of Ghana's development".

This has become necessary following growing interest shown by stakeholders in marrying activities of the two sectors to promote national development.

This was confirmed during an interview with Elizabeth Twumwaa Sasu, Chief Executive Officer of GH-Aviation, organizers of the AviaTour Conference 2019.

"The countdown has begun. We have few days to the AviaTour Conference and Awards 2019" she said.

According to the CEO, the nominations for the awards category of the conference actually opened in August and ended on the 9th of September 2019.

The categories being considered include, "the most promising youth in aviation development, the Airline with best passenger experience, the best domestic tourism promoter among others.

She appealed to Ghanaians in and outside of the country to embrace the conference been organized to promote two critical industries currently holding the lifeline of job creation in the resource endowed region and across the country.

For exhibition and sponsorship, she said the same number 0209116611 could be used to reach the organizers of the annual event being staged for the first time in the Western Region.

The CEO assured participants of the conference that "It is going to be an edutaining event with great networking opportunities for all those who would make it to the event"

Speakers for the event, she revealed would be coming from all aspects of the two industries, from Ghana and the world at large, therefore making the conference appetising, and very vital to the business community.

According to Elizabeth Twumwaa Sasu, the host city which is Takoradi would provide the required weather condition, and the venue, Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel, promising to offer patrons the required ambiance.

"Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel is the venue, and we are being hosted by the Western Regional Coordinating Council.The Western Regional Coordinating Council is the Host Sponsor of the AviaTour Conference 2019 ", she underscored.

She added "The best comes from the west, so look for nothing but the best this year"

Consequently, she urged industry players and those interested in the two sectors to register and take part in the three day conference under the theme "Investing in the aviation and tourism sectors for sustainable socio-economic development"
