Western Regional Fire Service Command urges event planners to give them prior notice on road blockage during yuletide

The Western Regional Fire Service Command has urged event planners to notify them in advance of road closures during the Christmas festivities.

According to them, the information will help them respond swiftly to fire outbreaks.

During a Nine Lessons Carols and thanksgiving service held by the fire service at their regional Headquarters, the Western Regional Fire Commander, ACO II David Ansah Darko said as everybody is preparing towards the Christmas celebration, they will require the public’s assistance so they can respond swiftly to emergencies.

“We are asking event organizers to inform us about road blockages in order for us to navigate our way when responding to fire and other emergencies. Call us on time in the midst of a fire outbreak so that we can respond accordingly to prevent loss of lives and properties”.

Christmas celebration in the Western Region especially in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis comprises several entertainment events. The most popular event is the Made in Tadi Concert and Masqueraders Streets Carnival.

The events are mostly held in the major streets leading to road closures and traffic jams.
