Ghanaian business mogul, Nick Kofi Adjei Danso Abbeam, has disclosed details of conversations he had with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, about his seeming feud with the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, and the Techimanhene, Oseadieyo Akumfi Ameyaw.
According to him, conversations he has had with the three monarchs do not point to the exact cause of the feud between them.
He said that the Otumfuo specifically told him that he (the Asantehene) does not know the cause of the feud between them.
“... I have spoken to my grandfather, Otumfuo Asantehene, I have spoken to Nana Techimanhene and I have also spoken to Nana Dormaahene.
“I, this little child, have walked to my grandfather, Opemsuo. I told him that ‘Nana, when we have conversations, you tell me that the Techiman stool is not a small one’. You also impress on me that Nana Dormaahene's stool is not a small one. You (Otumfuo) refer to them (the Techimanhene and Dormaahene) as Nana when we are having discussions. So, why this fighting?” he said in Twi in a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb.
Nick Danso Abbeam, who is regarded as Ghana’s richest man, added, “He (the Asantehene) said ‘Nick, I don’t know’.”
He indicated that he asked the permission of the Otumfuo to intervene in the impasse to bring peace.
“I told him (the Asantehene) that Nana, there is something hidden somewhere and so give your grandchild the opportunity to look into this issue.
“I’m a beloved son of Nana Techimanhene, I’m a beloved son of Nana Dormaahene and I’m also a beloved grandson of Otumfuo Asantehene. If you get close to them, you realise that the cause of the feud is unknown,” the business mogul said.
