Alhaji Hammed Abubakari, Yendi Municipal Chief Executive has given the assurance that his outfit will continue to support ventures that will provide skills and jobs to the youth.
He said the area was now enjoying peace after the enskinment of a new Ya-Na, a situation that would create more opportunities for the growth and development of the area.
Alhaji Abubakari said this during the graduation ceremony of 18 hairdressers, who had completed their four-year apprenticeship at Yendi.
He said seeking a profession was a blessing and was recognised even in the holy Q’ran and urged them to make maximum use of their skills to fend for their families.
Madam Zara Salifu, Head of the Yendi Ghana Hair Dressers Association said after the four-year rigorous training, it was now time for them to enjoy their fruit of labour and urged them to act professionally.
Madam Salifu advised them to continue to respect their Mistresses, who trained them and urged males to also venture into the trade.
Mr Nashiru Zakaria chairman of Ghana National Association of Garment Makers, Yendi Branch called on the youth to go into training in hair dressing, sewing, block laying, carpentry among others to be able to obtain the National Vocational Training Institute Certificate to be gainfully employed in the national security sector and other organisations.
Madam Martha Kwabena, the President of the Association advised the Graduates to establish their saloons and work to take care of themselves and their children.
