Author and founder of STand-Out Innovations, Patrick Fynn in his address at the launch of the ‘Surprise Awards for Excellence’ challenged individuals to become tools for addressing the numerous needs of society. The event took place at the British Council in Accra on Saturday 7th June 2016.
The program is a social enterprise awarding scheme purposed to honour commendable individuals whose course impact immensely on mankind. The launch brought together key players including Flag bearer of the All People’s Congress, Hon. Hassan Ayariga.
Delivering a solidarity message as a partner, the highlighted the need for the youth; especially to nurture and sustain dreams that bother on strategic, resourceful, result-oriented innovations as contributions to alleviating the challenges of the generation.
“Rather than leaving societal needs to the governments or business sectors, social entrepreneurs find need to find what is not working and solve the problem by changing the system. You are an agent of social change, required to contribute your quota to change the status quo.”, he emphasised. It was a clarion call on ambitious individuals to join in tackling major social issues and offering new ideas for wide-scale change.
