A Ghanaian chief based in the United States of America has called on the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to foment violence before, during, and after the December 7, 2024 elections.
Dema Naa Basha Iddrisu Ibrahim, the Entertainment Chief of the Dagomba Community in North America who made the call said the youth, rather than allowing themselves to be used by politicians to cause chaos must channel their energies towards constructive engagements.
This he emphasized would ensure the country remains peaceful even after the elections.
Adding his voice to the recent calls for the Electoral Commission to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming elections, the North America Dema Naa urged the EC “to ensure transparency, neutrality, and equal opportunities for all parties”.
A statement issued by Dema Naa Basha Ibrahim Iddrisu in New York, USA on Wednesday said the EC is responsible for ensuring that all eligible Ghanaian voters are allowed to exercise their right to vote and demand accountability from their leaders.
“Political parties and their supporters should renounce violence and embrace peaceful campaigning,” the statement also urged political parties.
