Zoomlion staff tasked to be innovative

Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of Zoomlion Group of Companies, has challenged the management and staff of the company to be innovative and creative in the discharge of their duties.

He asked the staff to strive for difference, concentrate on solutions and not questions, and be determined and creative to achieve results.

Dr Agyepong was speaking at an innovation conference for regional and zonal managers and district operating supervisors of waste management experts of the group, organized by the Company in Accra, on the theme: “Fostering Innovation for Success in the Twenty First Century”.

Mrs Florence Larbi, Managing Director of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, explained that the conference was aimed at harnessing and improving the profitability and value adding abilities of the company’s staff through innovation.

She challenged the workers to impact positively on the company through innovative endeavors.

Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KAMA Group of Companies, who was the first speaker at the conference, spoke on the topic “Creating and Managing Business through Innovation, the Ultimate Survival tool-The Role of the Staff.

The CEO told the participants that in attempting to exploit innovative opportunities there may be setbacks but stressed that “your attitude determines how you look at those setbacks.”

He indicated that the world was ready to accept, receive, honour and remunerate people with talents and positive attitudes and charged the staff to develop winning attitudes.

Albert Ocran, CEO of Combert Impressions, speaking on the topic “Innovation, The Ultimate Survival Tool”, tasked the staff to move beyond their God-given talents and challenge themselves to achieve higher heights.

He outlined a number of crucial building blocks for achieving success, including developing a strong mental capacity to forge on despite all the odds.

Mr Ocran, who is also the lead consultant and Chairman of Legacy and Legacy, a human capital development firm, said the importance of networking and forming useful alliances in order to succeed could not be over-emphasized.

About 350 regional managers, district operations supervisors as well as officer s of Zoomlion Ghana Ltd participated in the one-day innovations conference.
