  As far back as 1981-1983 I lived at Vitim Estates, we fetched water from this dam. Water problem is a perennial issue in Tamale. I lived in Tamale from 1968; and attended Tamasco. We often had to walk to the water works to get water when I was at Tamasco.

  This is unacceptable. Plans should have been made to solve this long time ago by building pipes from the Volta rivers to serve the people in Tamale and beyond. No excuse is acceptable.

  Every time something wrong is pointed out these incompetent leaders from regional minister to directors are fast to come out with stupid excuses to cover their asses.
  Sad the people don't demand for these services and the leaders are just incompetent, corrupt, don't care and useless in every form.
  tamale is expanding exponentially and the biggest setback to it is lack of water. the lack of water is the first thing that a level headed person notices when you stay there for 2 days.
  And now the other big threat is the indiscriminate construction of houses everywhere including the arteries that feed rain water to the dams. this problem is taking place in every locality in the country and leadership are either too gullible/clueless or don't care to find a solution for it.
  Blame those short comings on not only a terrible educational system; (no qualified engineers), but more importantly, letting the greedy chiefs do anything they want with regard the lands and it is almost at the door of total destruction.
  Again, the shortcomings are due to incompetent leaders from the president down to every minister, director or everyone in a supervisory position in the country.
  One positive, everyone of them is savvy at stealing government funds and good at coming up with excuses to cover their checkered/corrupt ways.
