The Adisadel College Millennium (2000) Year Group is set to host the school’s 115th Anniversary and Speech & Prize-Giving Day, marking 25 years since their graduation. The event, scheduled from March 3 to March 9, 2025, will highlight the contributions of alumni in shaping the institution’s future.

As part of the celebrations, the Millennium Group has undertaken a major redevelopment project—the remodeling and refurbishment of the historic Job 600 block.

This initiative, which has been under construction for the past 10 months, is aimed at modernizing the facility to meet contemporary educational standards. The official unveiling will take place during the anniversary week.
A Vision for Modern Education

Speaking on the rationale behind the project, President of the Millennium Year Group, Richard Nii Amu Arthur, explained that revamping the existing Job 600 block was a more effective strategy than constructing a new building.

“We realized that instead of constructing a new multi-purpose building, it would be more impactful to remodel the existing, dilapidated Job 600 block. This building, which has remained unchanged since the 1960s, no longer serves its purpose effectively or reflects the esteemed status of Adisadel College as a center for higher learning,” Arthur stated.

He emphasized the group's commitment to enhancing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education at Adisadel College, stressing the need to provide modern infrastructure that aligns with global learning methodologies.

“As the first alumni group of the millennium, we feel a strong responsibility to set a high standard for future generations,” he added.

A $300,000 State-of-the-Art Transformation

The $300,000 redevelopment project will transform Job 600 into a modern multipurpose facility, equipped with:

An amphitheater

Two physics laboratories

A counseling center

A computer laboratory

A robotics center

Classrooms and staff rooms

A National Science & Math Quiz preparation room
A storage facility

In addition, the washrooms beneath the Job 600 block will be completely renovated to serve all four Upper School houses with modern, high-standard facilities.

“Bringing this project to completion at a world-class standard has been no small feat,” Arthur remarked. “However, as our school ode says, Others have labored, and we share their glory; ours is to do exploits and add to their gains. This is our contribution to Adisadel’s legacy.”

Speech & Prize-Giving Day to Feature NASA Scientist

The 115th Speech & Prize-Giving Day will be held on March 8, 2025, under the theme, “The Role of STEAM Education in National Development in the 21st Century.”

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Ave Kludze Klutse, a NASA scientist, visionary, and proud Adisadel alumnus from the Class of ’83. The Special Guest for the occasion will be Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI.

A Week of Festivities

The anniversary celebrations will feature a range of academic, social, and sporting activities, including:

Monday, March 3 – Convoy to Cape Coast, evening hangout.

Tuesday, March 4 – Opening ceremony, career talk, and inter-house games.

Wednesday, March 5 – Donations, a football match between the Millennium Year Group and teachers, followed by a music night.

Thursday, March 6 – Street float, staff party, and an evening social event.

Saturday, March 8 – Unveiling of legacy projects, Speech & Prize-Giving ceremony, dinner, and awards night.

This landmark celebration underscores Adisadel College’s enduring legacy of excellence and its commitment to advancing STEAM education.

The Millennium Year Group’s efforts reflect a broader mission to enhance student learning experiences and uphold the school's reputation as one of Ghana’s premier educational institutions.
