AEGA gets new chapter

The Association of Evangelical Gospel Assemblies, Incorporated (AEGA), a global Christian body in more than 60 countries, on Saturday opened an Accra West Chapter on the theme: “Who Ministers the Minister?”

AEGA started in 1976 under the name: “Christian Ministries,” a local ministerial fellowship in Monroe, Louisiana in the US by Archbishop Charles E. Henderson, the current International Director, Foreign Division.

It provides ministerial credentials for qualified applicants and assisting in church planting, developing bible schools, feeding the poor, sponsoring needy children and organises an annual Christmas box delivery and a medical mission and outreach.

AEGA has continental, national, zonal, regional, city, district and chapter executives worldwide and embraces Christian workers, ministerial apprentices, licensed ministers and ordained ministers.

Bishop Dr Samuel Sagoe Nkansah, Vice Territorial Bishop of AEGA Ghana, who inaugurated the chapter, described the association as the largest charismatic ministerial network in the world, which creates the platform for people to share their gifts.

He commended Reverend Judanopa Abdi Jehu-Appiah, Head of The Word Force Ministry for his efforts to get the 23- member chapter started.

Rev Isaac Dick Reynolds, National Missions Director of AEGA Ghana, said the creation of chapters are meant to strengthen the association at the grassroots, boost the regional and national conferences and foster regular meetings among members.

He said AEGA offers information to the clergy on how to run their churches and how to conduct themselves and lead morally upright lifestyles.

He asked the members to shy away from acts that could hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Rev Jehu-Appiah said starting the chapter with 23 members is very encouraging “because I started my church with only one person”.
