All Schools for Christ Ministry holds youth training camp meeting

Kumasi, May 26, GNA - The All Schools for Christ Ministry is to hold a camp meeting in Kumasi with the aim to train the youth to become God fearing and turn away from evil.

Reverend Festus Abbey, Founder and Director of the Ministry, said the camp would provide the platform to discuss ways to overcome challenges confronting young people and to underline the need for them to take responsibility for their future.

The event would come off at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from July 29 to the August 4, 2010. Rev. Abbey at a media briefing at the Calvary Charismatic Chapel (CCC) Auditorium, Adum, Kumasi, said some renowned educationists, counselors and ministers of the Gospel, would participate.

They include Professor Steve Sobotie, former Principal, University of Education, Winneba, Kumasi Campus, Right Rev. Nuhu Ben Abubekr, past Kumasi Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church, Opanyin Kwadwo Kyere, a renowned counselor and Rev. Dr Douglas Frempong of the Christian Association of Ghana (CAG). The youth, Rev. Abbey said, should be supported to make life choices and decisions that would enable them to grow into responsible adults. He said the church could simply not afford to watch "these precious assets of society" (youth) ruin their lives through reckless and socially reprehensible lifestyles. Rev. Abbey said the meeting would not be restricted to only the Christian youth, but also to all young people. He appealed for more public support to achieve the goal of helping the youth to be self-disciplined, respectful and law abiding.
