Awutu-Bawjiase (C/R), Feb. 12, GNA - Professor Dr. Kweku Kwakye of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNIST), Kumasi, has strongly counselled married couples to allow God to control them to have a peaceful and successful married lives.
"The involvement of the Creator in the running of day-to-day marital affairs can help avert temptations that destroys fruitful marriages and make them more stronger and fit to withstand the test of time when the unexpected rare its ugly head," he said. Prof. Kwakye gave the advice at the wedding of Mr. Frank Osei, a hip-life musician popularly known as "PEE VEE" and a daughter of Lieutenant Daniel William K. Osardu, former District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya.
Prof. Kwakye attributed the collapse of many marriages to the inability of the couples to allow God to take absolute control and offer divine directions and guidelines.
He said any Christian marriage, which lacked such important divine protection was bound to collapse in the face of "Worldly challenges" when they crop up.
Prof. Kwakye charged the new couple to do away with "Worldly practices" inimical to the norms of Christian principles to get divine blessings.
The Reverend Alex Dankwah Yeboah of True Christian Faith Church, who officiated, stressed the importance of prayers as an effective tool for a successful marriage.
He advised the new couple to make prayers their hallmark to enable them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
"Regular and faithful prayers are the best and the most powerful weapon to overcome all obstacles that may come your way," he stated. Rev. Yeboah pointed out that having one's marriage dedicated to God did not exempt the couple from the numerous challenges that marriage entailed, hence the need to pray unceasingly. Lt. Daniel William Osardu called for mutual understanding and an untainted and uninterrupted love between the couple. Mr. Foster Kweku Osei-Poku, Father of the musician, also stated that it was only through love and understanding that their marriage could be fruitful and "grow from strength to strength". Other prominent pastors who blessed the marriage were, the Reverend Osmond Osei-Owusu, Pastor K. Rexford, Prophet K. Okyere, Prophet K. Nkum and Elder Samuel Arthur. The new partners promised to be faithful and loyal to each other all the time to ensure a fruitful marriage.
