Homedakrom (E/R), April. 26, GNA- Apostle Kadmiel Agbelenyoh, Head of the Seven-Day Church of Theocracy, at the weekend, entreated the Church to use the pulpit to preach against crime, conflicts, illiteracy and HIV/AIDS.
Apostle Agbelenyoh gave the advice, when delivering a sermon at the headquarters of the church at Homedakrom near Attiakrom in the Eastern Region on Saturday.
He said, he had no doubts about the ability of the leaders of the Theocracy Church in contributing to addressing national issues and urged them to endeavour to involve themselves in discussing issues on national development.
"It is important for the church to provide best ways to conflict resolution, promotion of peace and reconciliation among the politicians and the general public."
Apostle Agbelenyoh said there should be a strong relationship between the church and the government, which could strengthen the peace the nation is enjoying, leading to national development. He noted that the country was nearing a general election, and that it behoved on all politicians to guide against insulting utterances.
Apostle Agbelenyoh called on the church and the State to work towards improving the economic development of the country, adding that, "this is why the Church of Theocracy continues to embark upon numerous educational programmes to combat the HIV/AIDS menace at Breman Brakwa and in Akim Oda areas".
Over 550 members from six congregations of the church attended the sermon.
