Archbishop calls on Ghanaian leaders to lead exemplary lives

Nyinahin (Ash), July 2, GNA - The Most Reverend Thomas Kwaku Mensah, Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Kumasi, has urged Ghanaian leaders to be transparent, accountable and truthful to the masses. He also urged them to always lead exemplary lives worthy of sensitising the younger generation to help check the ascendancy of social vices in the country due to lack of respect for moral values and norms. Archbishop Mensah gave the advice when delivering the sermon on his visit to the Nyinahin Catholic Parish in the Atwima-Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

He stressed the need for church leaders to forge a closer collaboration with their members and not to Lord it over them to help foster a closer collaboration among them in the interest of Christendom. Most Reverend Mensah appealed to Christians to mobilize resources in support of government's development programmes and policies to facilitate the achievements of the nation's development goals. Mrs. Theresa Adomako Tawia, District Chief Executive for Atwima-Mponua, appealed to residents of the district to pray for her as she had planned to see to the total development of the district in all sectors.
