Blessed Hope Assemblies of God marks Anniversary

The Reverend Dr John B. Ghartey, General Secretary of Assemblies of God, Ghana has urged Christians to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hindered national development.

He said Christians would be doing a dis-service to God if they did not allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives

Rev. Ghartey made the call at the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of The Blessed Hope Assemblies of God at Medie near Amasaman.

It was on the theme: “Declare His Glory Among the Nations’’.

The General Secretary said as a Christian you have to explain vividly the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, instead of creating the impression that His death was meaningless.

He attributed some of the economic woes in the country to Christians' mad rush for monetary gains, instead of seeking their spiritual well-being.

Rev.Ghartey charged religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government’s policies and programmes

He commended the church for shaping the lives of the people in the community over the years.

The Reverend Jose Percy Shiako, Head Pastor, in his welcoming address, said the church which started with only one person, now had a congregation of 240 members.

He said the church had acquired a large tract of land to put up a school block to cater for the educational needs of the community.

Rev.Shiako said he and his team would work very hard to ensure that more souls were won for Christ.

Members who contributed immensely to the development of the church over the years were honoured.
