Chief Imam applauds Ablekuma Central MP

Accra, Sept. 26, GNA - The National Chief Imam, Alhaji Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, has expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central, Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie for his substantial contribution to Islamic communities. He also lauded the objective of the MP in his support, empowerment and education of the Muslim youths on environmental issues in the area. The Chief Imam gave the commendation at the annual Sabon Zongo Youth Association grand durbar of chiefs and people in the area to climax the Ramadan festival on Sunday.

He said the youths had a role to play in the development of the nation as well as their respective communities and urged them to do away with acts that impacted negatively on their abilities and strengths, In an address, Mr Chaie advised the Muslim youths to act as ambassador= s of the environment to ensure environmental cleanliness. He said President John Evans Atta Mills' effort to combate sanitatio= n would be enhanced if the youths took the responsibility and preached environmental cleanliness to the people. Mr Chaie urged the youths to be each others' keeper and reminded the= m about the importance of preserving the environment as well as learning environmental management to be able to sensitize people of the essence of keeping their surroundings clean. He also advised them to cherish unity among themselves in order maintain peace at the Zongos.

Dignitaries who grace the occasion were Nii Adzei Kraku II, Tema Mants= e (chief), Naa Gyata Kaa II, Tema Manye (queen) and Mr Ebenezer Nartey, New Patriotic Party aspiring MP for Ablekuma Central.
