Chief Imam calls for peaceful elections in 2016

The Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yussif Amudani Sulemana has called for peace among Ghanaians ahead of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Making the call at the Eid ul-Adha celebration at the Koforidua Central Mosque, he said the Muslim community would continue to pray for the country to sustain the peace and love that exist between Muslims and Christians to enhance development.

Mr Antwi–Boasiako Sekyere, the Regional Minister, urged the Muslim community to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and oneness in the country.

The minister on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council, donated 20 bags of rice, 20 cartons of oil and a cash of GHc 1,000.00 to support the Muslims in the region to observe the celebration of the Eid.
