Chief Imam praised for promoting inter-faith dialogue

The Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has praised the Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, for his contribution to ensuring peace in the country.

In his birthday wish to the Chief Imam who celebrated his 100th Birthday on Tuesday, the Nasara Coordinator said, His Eminence has always been instrumental in ensuring the youth, especially in the Zongo communities, live in peace at all times.

“Indeed, your personality provides us as Muslims and of course members of Zongo community in Ghana a sense of reflection as to our individual and collective roles of making an impact in the lives of other people and by extension the nation at large,” he praised the Imam.

He added that, “you continue to champion the course of humanitarian services while promoting interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths”.

According to the Nasara Coordinator, the Chief Imam’s presence in mediating community violence across the country especially in Zongo Communities continue to provide a sense of unity in the midst of their disagreements.

“I am humbled to witness today and much more grateful to have benefited from your fountain of wisdom and guidance in pursuit of attaining this leadership of Nasara wing of our great NPP and on behalf of the Nasara family and the Zongo community of Ghana, I pray to Allah to continue to bless protect and sustain you for mother Ghana in particular and the world at large,” he stressed.
