Kumasi, Oct. 16, GNA - The Resurrection Power Evangelistic Ministries, a non-denominational Christian congregation in Kumasi, is embarking on a nationwide intercessory prayer sessions for God to intervene in the recent natural and manmade calamities that happened in the country. The prayer session is to seek the face of God to prevent the re-occurrence of the recent disasters and devilish activities such as armed robberies, road accidents, floods, cold-blooded murders, pre-mature deaths, defilements, fire outbreaks and others that were causing anxiety and pain to people.
Evangelist Kwabena Owusu-Achaw, an Associate Executive member of the group who was addressing a cross section of pastors, church leaders, prayer warriors and other stakeholders at a two-day retreat in Kumasi to prepare them for the programme, said government was spending billions of cedis on rehabilitation and restoration of victims of disasters at the expense infrastructure development.
While praising the government, the UN agencies, NGOs and other organization for their relief support to disaster victims, Evangelist Owusu-Achaw said Christians had to contribute their quota through prayers to avert such occurrences.
He cited the recent fire disaster at Asokwa in Kumasi, murders in Accra and Tema, road accident at Okyereko junction in the central region and that of the KNUST junction, among others as the work of the devil and there was the need for Christians to rise up in prayers to fight since God was ready to set Ghanaians free.
Reverend Kwadwo Pianim, General Secretary of the Ministries, called on all Christians and other stakeholders to support the prayers to bring the devil's activities to a halt.
He said through prayers, the nation had been able to come out from many difficulties and mentioned the recent energy crisis, the stable economy and the successful implementation of the re-denomination as some of the problems God had rescued His people from.
Reverend Pianim appealed to Christians to pray fervently to God to save the nation from the devil.
