Christians urged to help fight immorality criminal activities

Antwi-Adjeikrom (Ash), Jan 12, GNA - A clergyman has urged Christians to adopt house-to-house evangelism to help fight against immorality such as defilement, rape and criminal activities that have plagued the society.

The Reverend Odame Afari, Bibiani District Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, said religious activities should not aim at only soul wining but to salvage the people from socio-economic problems.

He was speaking at the third anniversary celebration of the Church at Antwi-Adjeikrom near Bibiani in Ashanti, under the theme 93Go Therefore and Make Disciples to All".

He also expressed worry about how some Christians spend lavishly on funerals, weddings and other social activities and urged them to invest in the education of their children.

Rev Odame advised members of the Church to contribute to the growth of Church and to lead decent lifestyles worthy of emulation. Mr Bismark Obuobi, assemblyman for Antwi-Adjeikrom, commended the Presbyterian Church for establishing schools and hospitals across the country to augment government efforts.

He, however, appealed to the Church to establish, a day care centre, and educational and health facilities at Antwi-Adjeikrom to improve upon the standards of life of the people. 12 Jan. 07
