Christians urged to love Nation

Tamale, April 7, GNA- Christians have been urged to emulate the example of Jesus Christ by loving their neighbours and learn to share what they have with the less privileged in society.

They have also been asked to love their country and pray for Gods guidance for the leadership of the country to enable them to take the right decisions that would bring progress and prosperity to the nation. Pastor Honour Olukerede, Resident Pastor of the Winners Chapel-Tamale gave the admonition at an all night service in Tamale on Friday to mark the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ to save mankind from his sins.

He said although Christ was sinless he bore mankind's sins on the cross out of love, adding that it therefore behoves on Christians to serve as an example of Christ love in their communities. The congregation prayed for unity, peace and forgiveness among Ghanaians and the people of Dagbon in particular. They also thanked God for the peace and stability the nation has enjoyed over the years and prayed that God would continue to direct the affairs of the nation.

They also prayed that God would spare the nation from religious and ethnic conflicts. The drama group of the church staged a play to show the penalty for sins, envy, covetousness, immorality and fornication. 7 April 07
