Pastor John Borham, National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Ghana, has stated that although the church has contributed in diverse ways to national development, touching lives, especially those of young people, is the priority of the church.
Speaking at a media soiree to herald the forthcoming national congress by the church to be headlined by General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry worldwide, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, he explained that the church is prioritizing touching lives over building schools because without a transformed life, any other amenity would amount to naught.
Pastor Borham stressed that, “Deeper Life contributes greatly to our national development, and that is our desire, we want to do something that would touch our nation. Yes as we have the capability to build schools, yes we will build some other things but above all, our number one contribution is touching young lives.
He explained that, “it is when the people are peaceful, the nation of Ghana stand in a better position. Our resources would be properly managed, and we shall see great stability, great progress. We shall become a nation very proud, we shall shine, not only in the sub region, because righteousness exalt a nation.”
Pastor W.F. Kumuyi is expected to arrive in Ghana on Friday evening for a two-day explosive Miracle and Revival Service slated for the Deeper Life Campground, Brofoyedu, Kumasi.
The event, which will be held from 2nd to 3rd February, 2013, will bring together tens of thousands of Christians from the northern sector – made up of the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions – to Brofoyedru for the spiritual encounter.
Pastor Borham proclaimed, “this year 2013 is a great year for our nation, it is a year of blessing, and God has chosen to visit us through his servant Pastor Kumuyi and everybody is invited to witness the moment of the spirit of God at our time on our nation.”
He noted there are many people in Ghana – in our churches, society and work environment – who are akin to the Biblical Zacheus in that they cheat their way to success. “Zacheus has a wonderful name but was a very bad man as tax collector and cheated everybody; we have people like this in our country,” he said.
