Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection, manifested his glory in his children. It was, therefore, not prudent for Christians to travel around the world looking for that same glory, Pastor Mensah Otabil said on Sunday.
He said before Christ’s death, the glory was upon Him alone, because He was the only Begotten Son, and at the time all had sinned and come short of His glory, His Death and Resurrection made it possible for all men to receive His glory.
This was because He made glory available to all who believed.
Pastor Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, (ICGC), in his Easter message on the theme: “Christ in You the Hope of Glory,” explained that as a seed dies to produce much fruit, so did Christ die to make His glory available to many.
This, he said, Christ did through His mission of bringing glory to many, His method of suffering for our salvation, and a mindset of not feeling ashamed to call believers His brethren.
Pastor Otabil pointed out that if Christ’s glory was in us, there was no need running around looking for the same glory which Christ manifested in us through His Death and Resurrection.
“The mystery of the Christian life is ‘Christ in You, the Hope of Glory,’ the same glory that was in Christ, ” he told his congregation.
Pastor Otabil noted that “our completeness in life was based on the presence of Christ in us, adding that it was all joy that God poured Himself into Christ, while Christ also poured Himself into all believers, making them draw out of the fullest in Christ.
