EP Church reawakens faith of public

Accra, July 18, GNA - The Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church, Kisseman branch in Accra on Saturday morning embarked on a procession to reawaken the faith of members of the public in the spirit of God. Dubbed "Holy Spirit walk", the event was also to concretize the public that worshipping God could not o nly take place in chapels but also through other outdoor activities. The procession took members through the entire Kisseman community to West Legon and back.

Reverend Elymas Davidson Newell, District Pastor of E.P Church, Kisseman branch, told the congregants to remain hopeful in the Lord for the provision of their needs because the "Lord is the only provider of wealth".

He said struggles by people to acquire things which ran contrary to God's plans would only make them stressful adding "God will do everything for everyone at his own appointed time", he said. Rev. Newell cautioned Christians against inordinate love for excessive wealth as well as unreasonable high expectations saying that was what drove many people to engage in fraud.

He said God had solved the problems of many people and would do the same to those who believed in Him and urged members to remain steadfast in the Lord for His mercies to shower upon them. Rev. Fred Amevenku, District Pastor of E.P Church, Ashaley-Botwe branch, who joined the procession, told the congregants that the Holy Spirit was a source of strength and protection for all, and called on them to believe in the word of God. 18 July 09
