Fountain Gate Church inaugurates school in Upper East Region

Bolgatanga, Nov. 9, GNA - The Fountain Gate Church at the weekend, inaugurated an ultra modern Junior High School in Bolgatanga, at the cost of 443,238.98 Ghana cedis. The school complex called Fountain Gate International School, has 27 classrooms, administrative block, dinning hall, sports stadium and swimming pool among other facilities.

The Director of the School, Reverend, Mrs. Rosemond Anaba said the academic facility was established in 1996 with 107 children in four classroom but now has a total enrolment of 640 pupils. She said the aim of the church was to adequately equipped the school to provide the needed human resources for the country. Mrs. Anaba said the school had been scoring 100 per cent in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, since its establishment with an average score of 80 per cent distinction.

Mrs. Lucy Awuni, Upper East Deputy Regional Minister, commended the Church and the Management of the school for supporting the government in the provision of education.

She said government saw the private sector as an active partner in development.

Mrs. Awuni cautioned the school authorities to live beyond reproach and to avoid indulging in any indecent relationship with the pupils and rather serve as role models to them.

In a speech read on her behalf, the Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Agnes Atagabe commended the church for contributing to the building of the human resource base of the country.
