The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) has called on the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, the Right Reverend Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, to congratulate him on his elevation and explore ways of strengthening their partnership with the Church to promote Christ-like activities.

The Fellowship also donated magazines and some educational books, including the ‘Business Men’s Voice’, a collection of testimonies from members of the Fellowship. It also gave the Church ‘The Happiest People on Earth’, a book on the Fellowship.

Rt. Rev. Boafo was elected at the 10th Biennial and 48th Delegates’ Conference of the Methodist Church, as the fifth Presiding Bishop and the 11th leader of the Church.

Mr George Prah, the National President of FGBMFI, who delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of the Fellowship, expressed the hope that their partnership would provide the spark for reigniting the evangelistic fervour that characterised the Ministry of the Wesleyan’s by winning souls, battling orthodoxy and reviving dead and dying churches.

“Thanks to your immediate predecessor, Very Rev Titus Awotwi Pratt, we have succeeded to a large extent, in establishing contact with the Men’s Ministry of the Methodist Church,” he said. “As I speak, a joint outreach programme and a business seminar are on the drawing board.

“We believed that through effective teaching, the network and businesses of the two bodies would thrive to make us better as individuals.”

He said it was significant that the statement released by the Church after the election highlighted that the choice was made after hours of praying and waiting.

He emphasised: “The Church has prayed; Heaven has answered. There is no doubt that the hand of God is in your elevation to the highest spiritual position in the Methodist Church”.

He said in seeking to work with the Church, they were confident of success because their lifestyle and methods of evangelism were a copy of the traditions set by the Methodist’s Wesley Brothers.

Mr Ben Rockson, National Secretary of FGBMFI, said the Fellowship had, as part of its plans, to achieve a mission of reaching out to the world by creating a platform for Christianity.

He said the Fellowship was partnering Churches, especially orthodox ones, to achieve their mission.

Rt. Rev. Boafo on behalf of the Church, thanked the Fellowship for their goodwill, saying the Church looked forward to a fruitful partnership in evangelising to the world.

He said years ago, women were doing all works at the Church, including evangelism, however, men were currently considered major partners in the development of the Church.

He said the doors of the Church were widely open to the Fellowship whenever they needed support, emphasising that together they could revive the passion for evangelism among Christians.

He pledged to work relentlessly with the Church’s societies, including the Laity and Ministers, to strengthen evangelism, especially among the youth because that was the main mission of the Church.

The FGBMFI is the world’s largest Christian business men’s organisation, networking thousands of members, both males and females and drawing membership from diverse Christian denominations in over 150 nations through thousands of their local chapter.

The Ghana Branch was first launched in February 1977 and formally incorporated in October 1984.
