God's presence in the country will propel peaceful elections - Prophet

Ho, Sept 1, GNA - Prophet Michael Lebene, Founder of Harvest Grace Ministries in Ho, on Tuesday said the "unique presence of God" in the country would propel the country towards peaceful elections in December. He said though there would be few "confusions" at some places, the elections would be generally peaceful.

Prophet Lebene who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the end of a four-day youth camp meeting of the church, however urged pastors and Christians in general to remain in prayerful mood for peace to prevail after the elections.

He admonished pastors to be neutral and desist from urging their congregations to vote for particular political parties and candidates. "You are supposed to be moderators and must behave as such, and pray for all political parties," Prophet Lebene advised. He also cautioned politicians against attacking the personalities of each other, a situation he said has the tendency of causing mayhem, and urged them to observe decorum in their campaigns. 2 Sept. 08
