Kasoa (C/R), April 8, GNA- The Kasoa East branch of the Apostolic church has ended a three-day Easter convention in Kasoa with the launching of the "Freda Fund" to assist children in the area with peculiar medical problems to access hospital treatment. The launching was prompted by the presence at the Convention of Freda Eppirim, a 3-year-old girl who had a rectum deformity but has been corrected in the United States early this year.
Pastor John Kofi Effah, pastor in-charge of the branch, said an amount of four Million cedis was realised through an appeal and urged philanthropists to help build the fund by sending their contribution to the church at Kasoa.
Earlier in a Sermon, Pastor Effah urged Christians to be humble and not to seek revenge by emulating what Christ did on his journey to Calvary where he was crucified.
He urged them to develop spiritually and leave behind the bad habits by striving to reach a higher spiritual level of good virtues worthy of emulation.
Pastor Effah prayed for the nation and the President, John Agyekum Kufuor as well as government officials for God's direction towards economic independence.
During the convention, 44 people were baptised while 85 children including Freda were dedicated to God.
