Let Christ’s resurrection transform our lives - Rev Fr. Coustin

The Reverend Father Francis Coustin, of the Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral, at Takoradi, Sunday said Christians should let the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus transform their lives into better citizens.

Delivering a sermon to mark the Easter Service, Rev Fr Coustin said Christ Jesus came to redeem the sins of mankind, therefore, it was important to reciprocate the agony he went through with good character and attitudes.

He called for unity, especially among those who were at loggerheads, so that the strength in unity could further the cause of peace and development, saying these could not be achieved in the midst of disturbances.

Rev Fr Coustin said Easter was a time of joy, therefore, the privileged in society should share their happiness with the underprivileged by donating in cash or kind to them so that they would not feel dejected.

The Catholic Priest advised Christians not to be carried away by the pursuit of worldly gains, saying it was unhelpful for them to seek God only in the face of trials and hardships.

He urged the congregation to let their white apparels, which signified purity, to reflect in their daily lives and to show love and support for another at all times.

The Church would host the sick and the needy amidst entertaining activities on Easter Monday.
