The Right Reverend Dr Brew Riverson, a former Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, has called on Ghanaians to be more patriotic and take pride in their nation.
He said Ghanaians should respect and cherish their culture and traditions and show love and respect to one another
Additionally, they must come together to tackle challenges and to appreciate that there is something good in the other person, he said.
The Rt. Rev Dr. Riverson made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi as Ghana marked 58 years of nationhood.
He said there was the need for everybody to accept to share the responsibility of contributing to make the country a better place to live.
That, he said, demanded a radical shift from the gravitation towards individualism, greed and selfishness to a genuine and sincere desire to uphold the common good.
Rev. Dr Riverson warned that without this, efforts at bringing development would continue to struggle.
He urged those in political leadership to be open, transparent and accountable.
