Apam (C/R), April 8, GNA - The Methodist Bishop of the Winneba Diocese, Right Reverend Dr Joseph Kow Ghanney has asked Ghanaian electorates especially Christians to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them in the choice of political leaders in the December elections. He said the country could not afford to sacrifice the peace it was enjoying and, therefore, urged Ghanaians to pray fervently to ensure free, fair and peaceful Presidential and Parliamentary elections. Bishop Ghanney said this when he preached a sermon to close a-three-day session of the 47th Annual Synod of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church at Apam in the Central Region. The synod, attended by the 18 Circuits in the Diocese, was on the theme: "Come Holy Spirit, Empower Your People for Missions". He reminded Christians that without the visitation of the Holy Spirit, they could do nothing and explained that had the Holy Spirit not descended upon Jesus Christ, his works could not have been completed. He therefore asked Christians to yearn for the Holy Spirit in order to revitalize their potentialities. The Chief of Apam, Nana Adu Effrim X, promised to donate ten acres of land to the Church for the construction of educational facilities and other developmental projects.
