Moderator wants churches to promote the welfare of the youth

Kumasi, March 26, GNA - The Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), has underscored the need for Christians to collaborate effectively with the government to shape the lives of the youth. He said the challenges facing the youth in this era of globalization and technological advancement were enormous and that as agents of change, it behoved on Christians to work hard by initiating developments projects for their 'betterment'. Right Reverend Frimpong-Manso was preaching the sermon at the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Yennyawso Presbyterian Church in Kumasi. The occasion coincided with the dedication of a multi-million Ghana Cedi edifice at the church built through the contribution of the members.

The Moderator urged the youth to take up responsible roles in society and resolve to do away with vices that were inimical to their growth and progress. He stated that they should also avail themselves of the many opportunities and training programmes lined-up by the present government to help equip themselves with the relevant skills that they need in their development. Right Reverend Frimpong-Manso urged the church to take advantage of the new edifice to increase their membership.
