Pastor proposes a separate ministry for children

Essuowin (Ash), July 21, GNA - Very Reverend Samuel Fred Ansuh, Superintendent Minister of the Kumasi Circuit of the Methodist Church, has called for the creation of a separate ministry for children. He said such a ministry should inculcate in children the love for the country as well as the nation's traditions and culture. Very Rev Ansuh was speaking at a thanksgiving service to mark the 88th anniversary of Essuowin Society of the Methodist Church in the Amansie West District.

He said children should be brought up in the way of the Bible to enable them grow up to be useful citizens. The Rev Minister paid tribute to the founding fathers of the church and urged the church members, especially the youth, to follow the footsteps of their forefathers.

Very Rev Ansuh stressed the need for the members to contribute both spiritually and financially as the Society prepared for the status of a Circuit within the Kumasi diocese of the church. On marriage, he appealed to the members to give legal backing to their marriages by performing the necessary rites both customary and others as stipulated by the church, since by so doing the church will grow from strength to strength.

Very Rev Ansuh was happy that the Essuowin Basic School established in 1946 by the church and the second in the Bekwai district has produced prominent citizens.
