Kumasi, March 28, GNA - The Reverend Dr Paul Frimpong-Manso, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God church in Ghana, has urged his colleague Pastors to serve their congregation with humility and commitment.
He said they should see their calling as a service and should never lord it over the members of the church and added that material benefit and reward must be the last thing they should expect. Rev Dr Frimpong-Mensah said this when delivering a sermon at the induction ceremony for the Rev Godwin Tito Agyei, the new Ashanti Regional Superintendent of the Church at Akwatialine in Kumasi. The Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso urged the congregation to remain united and work hard to win more souls for Christ.
"Church leadership," he said, 93was not about power but a sacrificial job with pastors at the base, providing for the basic needs and spiritual welfare of the people." He reminded the congregation that as Pastors of the Assemblies of God they should distance themselves from self-aggrandizement. The Rev Agyei pledged to work diligently to help grow the church and appealed to the members to support him with prayers.
