Kumasi, Feb. 15, GNA - The Asawasi Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has marked its 50th anniversary with a call for an aggressive push by the mission towards the physical well being of the people. The Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, said it was time they assisted their members to enter into income-generating activities to lift their economic situation. The church, he said should be guided by the good works the Apostles did to improve the living conditions of the disciples.
"We should at all times be seen to be sharing with each other no matter how little our resources are to bring some comfort to our fellow Christians, so that they would worship God in truth and honesty", the Moderator said. He used the occasion to draw attention to the need for Ghanaians to be law-abiding and disciplined, noting that, indiscipline breed poverty. They should also be patriotic and committed to duty at their job places to enhance productivity.
Rev. Budu Asiaw, Asawasi District Minister of the Church, commended the founding fathers for planting the church, which he said, has immensely helped to shape the lives of majority of the people in the community. 15 Feb. 10
