Mampong (Ash), Aug. 2, GNA - The 29th national delegates conference of the Men's Fellowship of Presbyterian Church of Ghana has ended at Asante Mampong with a call on all stakeholders to ensure that the 2012 general elections in Ghana is free, fair and transparent to the satisfaction of all= .. Highlights in a communiqu=E9 by the conference include character assassination in the country by politicians, false prophets parading throug= h the cities and towns, homosexuality and indiscipline in the Christian community.
They urged all peace-loving people and law-abiding citizens to join hands to right the wrongs in the country. The delegates pledged to pursue the Fellowship project at Doryumu to its logical conclusion until the facilities became usable. At a thanksgiving service, The Rev Stephen Sarpong, Chairman of the Sekyere Presbytery said without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, Christians would find it difficult to meet the challenges of today. Quoting from Galatians 5:23, The Rev Sarpong admonished Christians to be guided by the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. In a Bible quiz competition, Messrs Owusu Asante from Ga Presbytery, Joe Mantey of Asante Presbytery and Kwame Affum Ankrah of Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery who came first, second and third respectively, were honoured wit= h certificates and cash award. The conference retained all the 10 national executives headed by Lt-Co= l J.Y. Asamoah (Rtd) for another three-year term of office.
