Presbyterian Junior Youth pledge to remain virgins

Accra, Aug. 6, GNA - Thirty-five members of the Asylum Down Presbyterian Junior Youth (JY) on Sunday pledged before the congregation to remain virgins till they get married.

The members, both girls and boys between the ages of 12 and 19 and led by Miss Hilda Asomaning, said, "We pledge before God and all gathered here that we will remain virgins till we marry." The congregation clapped and shouted Amen to demonstrate support for the youth.

The Youth pledged followed a teaching service by Reverend Patrick Kofi Ntim Manteaw, Pastor in charge, on the need for young girls and boys to maintain themselves as virgins till they got married. Rev. Manteaw gave an illustration with two products of the same value and explained that when a brand new product was not used well it got spoilt easily.

"Like any brand new product you buy, there is a manual on how to use it. Let the guys know that God has sealed you with His blessings and as such they have to go by the instructions in God's manual." Rev. Manteaw also advised the youth to dress decently reminding them that their bodies where temples of God.
