Prophetess urges women to contest district level elections

Accra, Nov 9, GNA - Prophetess Selina Boachie-Marfo, General Overseer of "God's Way Revival Ministry," in Accra, has encouraged women to actively get involved in the forthcoming district level elections scheduled for December 28.

She said women have compassion, determination and much love for humanity and these attributes would greatly help in the socio-economic development of the nation from the local level. Prophetess Boachie-Marfo made the call at the opening of a week-long "Destiny Summit", organized by the church with the theme: "Stepping into your Destiny." It is expected to end on Sunday, November 14. She urged women leaders to remain focused, strong and resilient to achieve success in their diverse fields of endeavour.

At a media briefing in Accra, the prophetess said the summit was to nurture Christians to lead lives that would foster national peace and development and also win souls for Christ. The summit would also usher in the seventh anniversary celebration of the church, with a congregation of about 800. Headquartered at Alajo in Accra, it has branches at East Legon in Accra, USA and South Africa.

As part of its social responsibilities, the church has been donating items frequently to orphanages at Bawjiase in the Central Region and in Accra. The church has also opened a vocational centre which trains both members and non-members to acquire skills. 10 Nov 10
