Students asked to draw closer to God

Reverend Joseph Danquah, Head Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, Liberty Centre – Sunyani Estate, has urged students to draw closer to the God as they prepare for the upcoming Basic Education Examination Certificate (BECE) in June.

He said there was no human endeavour that could succeed without the help of God.

Rev Danquah gave the advice when the Assemblies of God, Liberty Centre at Sunyani Estate and the Quadjo Afrane Ministries, a youth intercessory group, organised a day’s prayer summit for this year’s BECE candidates in the area.

The programme was on the theme: “Victory is of the Lord – Proverbs 21:31.”

Quoting extensively from the book of Daniel chapter 1:1-21 of the Holy Bible, Rev Danquah asked students to be submissive and obey God commandments so that He grants them victory in the face of any difficulties as they battle for academic laurels.

The Head Pastor reminded the candidates that the BECE is the beginning of their journey to real life situation, so they need to take the first step with hard work and the fear of God to be successful.

“At this time, you should preserve your lives as worthy vessels for good use by God and society in general and by doing so, you need to draw closer to the Almighty God for his divine guidance and providence,” he admonished.

The man of God later offered prayers for all the BECE candidates nationwide and gave the assurance that with God on their side they would come out with great success.

Brother Quadjo Afrane Benjamin, Leader of the Quadjo Afrane Ministries said the youth intercessory group was committed to building a vibrant and charismatic young people to devote their time, resource and energy in God’s ministry.

He said these end times world pleasures were drawing away the chunk of the youth from good morals, the fear and service of God, hence the intervention of his ministries in the prayer meeting.
