Thousands of Christians across the Volta Region are trooping to the Ho Jubilee Park for the “Christ to the Rural World-Ho for Christ Crusade”.
Hotels and guest houses in the regional capital are very scarce after a “walk for Christ” exercise by patrons to announce the four-day crusade.
Seventeen medical doctors out of 70, have begun free healthcare outreaches in hospitals and communities as part of the crusade, Mr Steve Mensah, Founder of Charismatic Evangelist Ministry and host of the crusade told the media on Tuesday.
He said thousands of cutlasses, 60,000 packs of food, 60,000 exercise books and tons of clothing would be given to farmers, the less privileged and schoolchildren.
Mr Mensah said the team would also distribute hurricane lamps to people in villages, give out “special prayer Bibles” and visit the Ho Leprosarium and Central Prisons with assorted gifts.
He assured of adequate security.
Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), UK, one of the speakers for the crusade, expressed the hope the outreach would impact positively on the region.
The crusade, on theme: “The Hand of God” is in conjunction with the Local Council of Churches, has Pastor Mensah Otabil of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) as one of the main speakers.
Other speakers include; Pastor Wale Olulana, UK, Pastor Tunji Akinola, Nigeria, and Bishop Dominic Allotey, USA.
