Accra, July 17, GNA – The Fafraha Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Victory Congregation, on Sunday dedicated a 49-Seater luxurious bus worth $136,000 to the glory of God for use to enhance evangelism activities.
The air-conditioned bus, with DVD and two flat screened televisions, is expected to also ease the transportation problem of Church members especially on Sundays.
Reverend Mrs Cynthia Boama of the Church, who dedicated the bus, called for its proper usage and care.
According to her, failure to ensure regular maintenance would derail the toil and sweat of members who contributed to purchase the bus.
Reverend George Kwapong, District Minister of the Adenta Municipality, speaking on the theme: “Building on Divine Principles: The Blessing of God,” said God’s blessing on the lives of his people, especially believers was so essential.
He said people needed God’s blessings everyday and that no matter how hard they work, or the connection they have, they needed the blessing of God.
He said the blessing of God in one’s life signified the presence of God, God’s protection and strength, God’s gift, ability and talent among others.
Rev Kwapong said, “God’s blessing could be at his will or mercy, since he is sovereign...”
He encouraged Christians to obey and practice the word of God to enable them to acquire the blessings of God.
The occasion was also used to present multimedia equipment worth GH¢4,500 to the Junior Youth of the church to enhance evangelism.
They included two LCD monitors, laptop, speakers and microphone.
Presenting the equipment on behalf of the Church, Mrs Henrietta Okyere-Tumu, Senior Presbyter said they were to help to train the youth to know how to operate equipment before joining the adult service.
She expressed the hope that the equipment would be used to glorify the name of God.
Reverend Kwadwo Osei-Bonsu, Second Minister in charge of Youth and Evangelism, who received the equipment was grateful to the leadership of Church for the donation and pledged to use them for the purpose for which they were acquired.
He said plans were far advanced to introduce a support system to help unemployed graduates and other skilled workers in the Church.
He said seminars and workshops were being held for the youth to empower them and also to enhance their learning activities.
Rev Osei-Bonsu said the church was also introducing business ventures for members to be employed to improve upon their economic and social lives.
On the issue of homosexuality, Rev Osei-Bonsu said his outfit was educating the youth on the dangers of the act.
“The act is not acceptable religiously and culturally and should not be encouraged,” he added.
